The Perfect PB Blossom: A Study in Texture

Balancing the salt of the nut butter with the richness of chocolate—a holiday staple reimagined for the year-round kitchen.

  1. 1 Cup of Shortening

  2. 1 Cup of Peanut Butter

  3. 1 Cup of Packed Brown Sugar

  4. 1 ½ Cups of White Sugar

  5. 2 Large Eggs

  6. ¼ Cup of Milk

  7. 2 Tsp of Vanilla

  8. 2 Tsp of Baking Soda

  9. 1 Tsp of Salt

  10. 3 ½ Cups of flour

  11. 2 9 ounce bags of Hershey Kisses, Unwrapped

Directions

Mix your shortening, Peanut Butter and eggs together. Whip in you sugars, milk, vanilla, baking soda and salt till nice and creamy. Add your flour. Scoop out with appropriate size and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Once the cookies come out of the oven immediately place your kiss and press it down into the puffed up cookie and let cool. Typically this takes a while as it will heat up the chocolate and make it soft and it all has to cool. I would leave them for at least 30 minutes if not longer.
